Aromatic Scent: Organic Golden Jojoba carrier oil has a soft, distinct and pleasant aroma.

Description: Jojoba is an evergreen shrub, reaching a height of 1-5 meters and having a long life span (100-200 years). Jojoba plants produce flower buds; after the plants experience a certain number of “chilling” hours, the buds mature and open. The oil, which is extracted from the plant’s seed, makes up approximately 50% of the Jojoba seed by weight.

Important: At around 10°C, Jojoba oil will start solidifying. This happens because it is a 100% pure natural product and the waxes in the oil begin to set. Simply place the bottle between your hands to warm the oil.

Organic products and Certification process: Organic production in European Union, United States, Canada, Japan and some other countries is a heavily regulated industry. Organic products are produced using methods that do not involve modern synthetic inputs (such as synthetic pesticides and chemical fertilizers), do not contain genetically modified organisms and are not processed using irradiation, industrial solvents or chemical food additives. Other requirements include: use of farmland that has been free from synthetic chemicals for at least three or more years; maintaining strict physical separation of organic products from non-certified products; and undergoing periodic on-site (usually twice a year) inspections of soil, water and production facilities.

History: The indigenous people of the American southwest were the first to use jojoba oil. Theyused jojoba seed and oil for cooking, hair care and for treatments of many problems, such as poisoning, sores, wounds, colds, cancer and kidney malfunction.

The first planting of the jojoba occurred around 1927. In 1935, chemists at the University of Arizona discovered the unique qualities of jojoba oil. In 1971, the United States banned the import of whale oil and an alternative to whale oil was needed. Attention turned to jojoba oil. The late 1970’s saw a significant increase in demand for the oil, which has been steadily increasing since.

Possible Uses: Organic Golden Jojoba oil is one of the most used carrier oils, due to its range of beneficial properties. Although it is called oil, in fact it is wax ester and is remarkably similar in composition to human sebum (skin oil). For this reason, jojoba oil is absorbed quickly and easily into the skin and hair. Studies have shown that Organic Golden Jojoba oil has no toxic properties, is non-comedogenic and non-allergenic. It is also very rich in vitamin E, which is said to have a positive effect on wrinkles.

Organic Golden Jojoba oil is said to act as a natural anti-inflammatory and may be a good choice for use on inflamed, oily or acne prone skin. Since Organic Golden Jojoba oil is non-comedogenic, it can also be used as a moisturizer for all skin types and as a lip-balm.

As Organic Golden Jojoba oil is not an eye irritant or allergenic, it has been used as face and eye makeup remover, as well as foundation, blush and lipstick remover.

Organic Golden Jojoba oil can be used as a hair conditioner. It also can be added to damp hair before drying. When added to dry hair, it will make it shine. In these cases, Organic Golden Jojoba oil also acts as a moisturizer to the scalp and may help prevent dandruff.

Organic Golden Jojoba oil is very stable with a long shelf life and can be added to other carrier oils in order to extend their shelf lives.

Important: Organic Golden Jojoba oil may become cloudy in cool temperatures. It will return to its clear state with warming.

Skin patch test: It is strongly recommended that you perform a skin patch test before using an essential oil and/or any other oil for the first time. Rub a diluted drop on your wrist and if the area gets red or itches, wash it off right away with cold water and don't use the oil. If there is no reaction in couple of hours, you can use the oil.

Eyes: Don't get oils in your eyes; if you do, rinse right away with plenty of fresh water.

Oral intake: Do not take internally.
